Kinga Offert is originally from Poland, where she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. Her first memories associated with illustration are of the colourful characters found in Disney books and fairy tales. She took up illustration professionally as a way to better describe reality, including virtual reality. More recently, she has given her hand-drawn alter ego – a one-eyed figure observing city life – a digital form on the Internet as a computer game character. This marked the beginning of a series of works that represent attempts by her to get a better grasp of technology, to find her place in the digital world, and to face the fears surrounding the development of virtual reality. Contact with the viewer plays an important role in Kinga Offert’s art – and those visiting her exhibitions are regularly invited to play a role in co-creating the artwork.

She combines work on her own projects with commercial projects. To date, she has worked with such brands as T-Mobile, Electronic Arts, Zalando, Facebook, Fielmann, Volkswagen and Pepsi. An important part of her work is the design and painting of murals, which allows her to work in a larger-scale format and provides opportunities to directly address the public.

Her work also involves collaboration with cultural institutions. For example, at the invitation of the German Embassy in Warsaw, she designed a ‘Buddy Bear’ commemorating the 30th anniversary of the German-Polish Treaty of Friendship.
